BENEFITING: LAZAREX CANCER FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Apr 24, 2016
I have decided to run this race alongside an organization called Lazarex, which works to improve the outcome of cancer care to end stage cancer patients in medically underserved communities by providing assistance with costs for clinical trial participation as well as community outreach and education.
I am fundraising $2000 for Lazarex so people who have been diagnosed with cancer can live longer, laugh longer, love longer, and enjoy life! I have seen so many of my friends and family affected by this disease, but I am dedicating this race to my dad, who passed away from cancer when I was four years old.
I will always admire my dad’s unwavering determination; he never let this terrible disease dictate his life. He continued doing the things he loved, including running races and competing in triathlons, until his very last days.
This year, I have the privilege of running a marathon in his honor and hope to use this opportunity to raise money and awareness for other individuals and families affected by this disease. If you would like to support me in this effort, please use this link to make a small donation and begin spreading the word of this wonderful organization we are supporting, Lazarex.
Thank you in advance for all of your support! Every little bit helps us beat the battle against cancer!
