Kristin Ringstad, RN, BScN
I am a Registered Nurse currently working in the areas of Public Health and Community Health. I am passionate about research related public health issues both locally and globally. I plan to further my education by completing an MD/PHD program with a focus on the health impacts on communities related to disaster and emergencies. I have a background in medical and surgical nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse as well emergency and critical care. I am currently a member of the World Association of Disaster and Emergency Medicine and serve as a member of the Emergency Medical Response section and Membership committee. I am also a volunteer for EvidenceAid, an organization dedicated to providing accessible, evidence based resources as well as inspiring and enabling those guiding the humanitarian sector to apply an evidence-based approach in their activities and decisions. The opportunity to work with GEH Labs will provide me valuable practical research experiences in the field, which will not only contribute to my personal and professional growth but also help the local communities in Myanmar conduct public health research related to migration and health, gender and occupational health, and risk assessments for years to come.
