Kristins Pineal Cystic Tumor
Organized by: Jerry Kelley Jr
EVENT DATE May 31, 2015
My wife has to have surgery on a pineal cystic tumor. She has been through numerous medical issues that now can be attributed to this recent finding. In 2010 she began with a new doctor that was doing a routine check up and asked for a MRI. The findings from this MRI located this cystic tumor on her pineal gland. She then began initial steps and continued to watch this cyst over the next few years. She has had a check up with MRI in 2012 and the doctor noticed that the tumor had quadrupled in size. She started making preparations to have this taken care of at that time, we then receive a call that the doctor had passed away after a trip she had taken at only 40 years old. We located a doctor to take her care over and basically had to begin from the start again. We are now at the same point we was back in 2014, finally.
Some symptoms of this tumor include, kidney stone, glaucoma, weight gain, insomnia, Inability to conceive, falls and others. She has over the last 24 years had 33 lithotripsies, has glaucoma, has fallen in the last couple years and broken her arm due to numbness in her lower extremities, and other medical issues.
We were married for 17 years and taken a last ditch effort to have a child. We made a appointment with her OBGYN and he decided to give her some medications to try as we had already tried just about everything else. We were at the stage to just give up on having our own child, and move into adoption when the doctor called back and said that after her test she was pregnant. We had a beautiful daughter 9 months later. So we was able to get past the inability to get pregnant and thank the good lord above for allowing us to have this wonderful piece of sunshine. It is our hopes that once she has this surgery, she can somewhat get back to some normalcy. The doctor seems very optimistic that she should regain about 10 years after this surgery, stating that what damage has been done will not be repaired but should alleviate any further.
We thankfully have medical insurance, but it will not cover all the expenses we will incur. We have a 20 night minumum stay in Houston, Tx that includes lodging, meals, travel to and fro, deductibles that insurance will not cover, bills at home while we are away from home, and numerous other expenses.
Thank you for your attention to my short story about my family life, and god bless.
