Please check out www.daraja-academy.org to learn more about this incredible organization. Educating girls will change our world for the better. I'm so thankful that I didn't have to think twice about how I would receive an education. Unfortunately, many girls around the world stop schooling in their early teens because they don't have the financial means to continue. Daraja is making it possible for 104 girls to finish school and potentially go on to college! Thanks in advance for your consideration of this cause.
The first three photos are of the student I'm advocating for, Jemimah. Jemimah’s family was heavily affected by the election violence in 2008. She saw gruesome brutalities occur and missed one year of primary school during that time. She explained, “In Eldoret, everything you had was destroyed but the only thing you they couldn’t take from you was your education.”
Until very recently, Jemimah had been living in a United Nation’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp. Jemimah had been promised by various foreigners that she would be given aid to better her future but many of the promises had gone unfulfilled. Fortunately, Daraja Academy was able to interview her and grant her a four year scholarship that she clearly deserved. After her admissions interview, the administrators remarked that there is indeed a miracle inside of this young woman!!!
