BENEFITING: Operation USA
EVENT DATE: Nov 09, 2012
Our Goals ...
The #KRUNchers have teamed up with Operation USA to turn this ridiculous race into a ridiculously good cause. Help us reach our goal of raising $5K to help support the victims of natural disasters, disease and poverty. You can donate below directly to Operation USA or attend one of our fundraising events.
Sure it's about the bond of 12 weary runners, sure it's about the intensity of a 200 mile race, but most importantly, it's about helping out those in need.
About the #KRUNchers and Ragnar ...
Remember when you were a little kid in middle school and the thought of running a mile was pretty much the most terrifying thing imaginable? Well, you were wrong. And not just a little wrong … like, a very big wrong. Because what 12 brave souls are going to be attempting on November 9th is just straight silly.
Let me give you a little taste of it… imagine a relay race, now imagine a relay race designed by Chuck Norris. The Ragnar is a 200-mile (yes… that’s two zeros) nonstop run-fest where all 12 runners trade off running day and night over about a 30-hour period across the desert in Las Vegas. The race starts the morning of Friday, November 9th, and assuming we all survive and can actually do this, the finish is sometime Saturday, November 10th. Each team member will run three legs, each leg between 2 and 11 miles and the team will have two vans, little to no sleep, zero personal space, a lot of caffeine, and energy bars/gels/etc., and hopefully enough adrenaline to carry them (perhaps literally) across the finish line. we're especially looking forward to the race legs in the middle of the night that say “No van support,” which we're guessing means we’re running trails in the dark and battling coyotes or something. But alas, we’re doing it… and we’re going to dominate it with your help and support.
We call ourselves the #KRUNchers and most importantly, of course, we’re doing it for an amazing cause! It’s time to adopt a #KRUNcher… to support Operation USA. So support these fearless #KRUNchers, as we lace up our PF Flyers and go Prefontaine on the Nevada desert on November 9th. You will be contributing to a worthwhile charity and turning the insanity of this 200-mile relay race into an insanely good cause.
