A special note from Vera, Captain Kylie's mom:
On Febuary 2, 2014 our lives were forever changed, as we were joined at starting line of the New Orleans Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon by a group known as "Ainsley's Angels". This was the first I had heard of this ministry and was completely blown away by what they represent! My husband and I have 12 year old twin girls, Adlen and Kylie. Through Kylie's life I have learned to "choose joy" and a year ago after hearing Kylie say she wanted to run, I decided I would make that happen.
With that being said we ran our first race on January 26, 2013 using a borrowed stroller from a family friend and have been running races together ever since. As we lined up on February 2, 2014 for our first half marathon with Ainsley's Angels, the energy, positivity and determination that surrounded us all was intoxicating! As a mom who has dreams and hopes the best for my children, I know with Kylie I have to be her voice and make dreams come true. As such, I have established this fundraising page to not only ensure Kylie can get a racing chair that she can grow with, but with your help, to also ESTABLISH mTT: AInsley's Angels of Central Alabama! That's right, we are going to have an organization here in Alabama that ensures EVERYONE can experience the thrill of running road races.
HOW AWESOME IS THIS!!! As the father of two very special girls that race together with me, I know that the positive energy surrounding the start line, the togetherness of every member preparing to "roll with the wind", the fearlessness of the athletes, the normalcy of family, and the love we all have for each other is a therapy like no other.
YES YOU CAN, donate 10, 20 or 50 dollars right now! The first 850.00 will go toward getting a larger chair for Kylie and every dollar after that will go to set up the newest chapter of mTT: Ainsley's Angels here in Central Alabama (we are building a Facebook page for the Chapter now)!
Click the orange button in the upper right of this page or e-mail email@example.com for a link to make a donation using PayPay and/or for a mailing address should you prefer to donate by check. We will ensure all donations appear on this page as off-line donations.
Another way to help, is to spread the word of our message and efforts:
1. Click to purchase the children’s book, Born an Angel, written by Ainsley’s 12-year old sister and donate it to a local elementary school library! Proceeds go to the Ainsley's Angels Foundation.
