BENEFITING: Morningside Ministry United Methodist Church
EVENT DATE: Jun 28, 2014
“No one comes here, not even tourists. It’s got tremendous land but no one wants to be here. It’s a very depressed country. Kazakhstan is LITERALLY the ends of the earth.” Pastor of United Methodist Church, Central Asia (Anonymous for Security purposes)
In 2012, our church, Morningside Ministry, felt God's calling to partner with the UMC in Central Asia. At that time, we went to Kazakhstan and dedicated our time for the people of that region (urban Almaty and rural Ushtobe) in mercy ministries, VBS, preaching, in prayers and sharing of the great Gospel. The people of that region were incredibly encouraged that Christians all the way from New York would sacrifice time and money to trek all the way out to their desolate town of Ushtobe. The trek in itself, was a testimony to them! As much as they felt blessed to have us there, our tiny team of 4 were incredibly blessed to see their love and a change in hearts for Christ! Ever since that missions trip, I continued to have a heart for those brothers and sisters in Central Asia.
In light of such a blessed missions experience in Kazakhstan, my team and I will be going to Kazakhstan's neighboring country, Kyrgyzstan. This trip will be different in that this will be a Gospel-centered conference with ages ranging from 16-28. My 2 teammates and I will be facilitating and participating in this conference through building community, small groups, body worship, skits, testimonies, and preaching. Please pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to guide our team through preparation and the entirety of this trip!!!
In light of this missions trip, I do need financial assistance to partake in this blessed trip. All raised funds will be strictly for airfare, transportation, food and lodging.
I truly do appreciate your love, and support through finances and/or prayers! THANKS BE TO GOD and to you for just taking time out to read this =)
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
