La Casa De Maria Aid Packages
Organized by: Autumn Robinson
Once you have kids in high school, a question is normally what to do with the stuff they used to play with. Some of these toys are set aside while others are normally put in yard sales or boxes that go to Goodwill. I have another path available that will provide these toys with a new home with children in Escobar, Argentina, a suburb of Buenos Aires. I became aware of La Casa de Maria through research in a recent Spanish unit. This house is open weekdays to provide care for local children despite the economy. They promote education, health, and family and are currently trying to build a school to be able to further benefit these kids. To do this, they need help. I’ve set up a crowdrise account to try and raise money to ship the packages to Escobar from Virginia. I’m hoping to be able to send aid packages to them filled with items they’ve expressed need for. I’m planning to send at least one box out in July, depending on how much money is raised and supplies collected. They need: ▪Sports equipment. ▪Childrens toys, jigsaw puzzles and board games. ▪Educational toys . ▪Numbers games, dice, dominoes etc. ▪Any English language reading material, books, magazines. ▪School equipment - pens, pencils, books (both English and Spanish), notepads, and form of stationary. ▪Craft supplies – glitter, pipe cleaners, paint, stickers, card, child friendly scissors, tissue, face paints, wash off tattoos. ▪Clothes, shoes, bed linen. ▪Toothbrushs, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, plasters and bandages ▪Plastic cutlery, plates, cups, any cooking utensils. If you’re able to help in any way, please feel free to contact me. Whether it be donating items, donating money, or sharing this post, thank you. It would be great to be able to help these kids and I would love for you to be able to join me. Thank you so much.
