Tomorrow's the Big Day!

BENEFITING: THOMAS G LABRECQUE FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: THOMAS G LABRECQUE FOUNDATION
If you are looking at this page then you likely know I am a distance runner...I don't go for speed, just for the bragging rights of miles completed! As you likely also know, my dear friend Kim Ringen is also a distance runner, forced into retirement by lung cancer. While Kim is an extraordinary individual, her story of a young woman with a healthy lifestyle developing lung cancer is not unique. Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer! While sadly Kim's disease continues to progress, she is the first to extol the importance of lung cancer research and how her participation in multiple clinical trials has allowed her to live as long as she has since the time of diagnosis! Only five percent of those diagnosed will live more than five years after diagnosis! This could be prevented if an early detection tool was available, and continued research is the key.
In honor of Kim (and with her blessing to be honored by a slow poke), I will be running the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon on November 6, 2016 to raise money for Run As One, a joint fundraising between the Thomas G. Labrecque Foundation and LUNGevity, non-profit organizations dedicated to preventing lung cancer through research and awareness. I am very excited to participate in this event, and hope that my hard work and dedication will help me across the finish line. But I need your help. In order to participate in the Marathon, I have made a commitment to raise at least $3,000 for Run As One. I am asking friends and family to consider sponsoring me for this event and would greatly appreciate your kind consideration by making a donation toward this goal. All donations are of course tax deductible. None of this money is going to me or my travel expenses, but directly to a reputable charity!
Medical research has enabled women to survive breast cancer and men to survive prostate cancer. The same can be done for lung cancer patients, but only with increased awareness and a greater commitment to funding for critical research. I hope you will please join me in supporting this very important cause.
Thank you for your support,
You may sponsor directly through this website, but if you prefer to use a check please see instructions below:
