Lacey's Weekends With Daddy
Organized by: Maria Vitale
Hello. My name is Maria. I am 61 years old, and have a son with a Tramatic Brain Injury, and blind in one eye. Hit by a car, while walking in a crosswalk. I would need to write a book to describe the pain and agony of that day. I his mom, saw it happen. I literally nearly died that day. My precious 22 year old son, near dead. But thank God he was saved. The worst part of course was and is his TBI, with seizures, and memory loss, short and long term. But a few years later he got married, and they had a daughter, now 8 years old. Tragic as the accident was, we had no idea what would follow. Two years after getting married, and his 9 grand all spent, his wife wants a divorce. Threw him out to come back to me. Two years after that, she married an ex-con who took control of her, my granddaughter and more. 30 times in courtroons, mostly her being a malicious mom. Accusing us of unspeakable things. All thrown out, but the harm was done. She and her husband put us through hell, my whole family, and hers. Now, I live in Baltimore City, and they in P.G. Country. I pick her up bi-weekly from school for the weekend. That's over 50 miles each way. 200 miles a weekend. Now my car, a 2002 Chevy Impale needs so much work done. The cost to fix it or get another car is way more than what I ask here for. Please, I need your help. Not for me, for Lacey. She too has been the one hurt most. I can't even get the police, or CPS to see the evidence I have. I just want to be able to have a decent enough car to continue our visits. She loves us, and her mom has tried everything she can to keep her dad and me out of her life. And her maternal grandparents too. We are the ones who drive to North Beach to let her visit them. On her dad's time. We love them too. But with no car, Lacey loses us, my family, and hers. Anything anyone can do to help, we would be eternally grateful for. Thank you and God bless you.
