THE STORY:

It was May 28th, 2016. In a quiet Cincinnati Zoo was a tranquil and optimistic lowland gorilla, who was celebrating his second day of his 17th year on planet Earth. The sky seemed an exceptionally serene shade of blue that Saturday afternoon, a window into space that hurled itself over the majestic soul known as Harambe. Harambe knew not of the political discourse of America, the violence erupting throughout the Middle East, nor the famine that plagued the land of his ancestors. All Harambe knew was life - simple and satisfying, care-free and full of jubilance. From breakfast to afternoon snack, all seemed proper and well in what appeared to be another routine day in the comfort of his home. Little did Harambe know, today's succulent meal would tragically serve as his last. At approximately 1600 hours, a curious little boy (much akin and easily assimilated to the curiosity exhibited by Conor Clapton) made his way over a three foot fence, through roughly four feet of bushes, and took a long walk off a short dock that lead him to fall fifteen feet into the moat that Harambe knew to be his own. And here is where our story takes a turn from harrowing to tragic. As Harambe joined the boy in the moat, inquisitively pulling him along, the decision was made to dispatch Harambe's soul from this world. But, alas, we are not here to point fingers, nor are we here to place blame. We are here because of our irresistible desire to return and/or maintain Harambe to his rightful [meta]physical state on our plane of existence. It is believed that such can be done via appropriate efforts needed for the creation of a Ladder To Heaven.[Cue Sarah McLaughlin] Your contribution, your commitment, and your compassion will be what aides the construction of this ladder. Donate what you can, when you can, as often as you can so we can reach out to Harambe and let him know that we have not and will not forget him. Together, and with your monetary contribution, we will build a Ladder To Heaven. We will... Bring back Harambe.
