When I was 18, and in my first sexual relationship, I had a close call. We weren't using protection, and things didn't happen "as planned" (because teenage sex is oh-so-well-planned). There was no Plan B then, but that time I was lucky. And I realized it. So I packed myself off to Planned Parenthood and got some birth control. Planned Parenthood kept me safe and well while I went to college, started a job, and eventually got health insurance and my own doctor. Because of Planned Parenthood, I didn't NEED and abortion. But that's only because I got lucky.
Women shouldn't have to rely on LUCK. They should have comprehensive reproductive healthcare ON DEMAND and WITHOUT APOLOGY. As a progressive Southerner, I've watched with a broken heart the relentless assault on women’s health clinics and abortion providers. But it's time to turn that pain into action! And that's why I joined Lady Parts Justice League.
Lady Parts Justice League is redirecting pent-up frustration into funny, edgy, and meaningful activism. They are NOT POLITE. They are NOT SAFE FOR WORK. They are FUNNY AS HELL. And THEY need YOU!
Lady Parts Justice League is spreading truth, exposing anti-woman anti-choice zealots, building community, and celebrating abortion providers and volunteers. 2016 is a critically important year for women's health, and if you can't be on the ground fighting the fight, please consider supporting the work of Lady Parts Justice League. And then join us for drinks.
