La Familia is an organization that has a multitude of programs and services designed to help Sacramento's diverse and underserved populations. The Children and Young Adults Division is open to children and youth ages 0-21. Within this division there are many educational services available that inspire and facilitate improvements that affect educational outcomes. Beyond addressing the needs of the whole child from birth, La Familia also runs Project Reach. Project Reach is geared toward youth ages 10-21 who are at risk of dropping out of school or are pre-gang and/or gang affiliated. The education program strives to give at-risk, underserved youths tools, strategies, and resources to make positive choice that will impact their lives going forward.
Another program offered at this organization is called Project Youth Voice, which also targets at-risk underserved youth of all ages. This education program is particularly important because it focuses on leadership development. Children and youth in this program learn how to become leaders for themselves, their families, their schools and their communities.
La Familia offers a range of programs to meet the needs of our diverse community in the following program areas:
Behavioral and Physical Health
La Familia provides Mental Health counseling services for children and youth ages 0 to 21 and their families.
Family-driven mental health services are provided through home visitation, at school sites, at La Familia, or at other locations as requested by families.
