Lafayette’s Town Hall is celebrating its 100th Birthday in 2014. It has served as a community-meeting place, a dance hall, a temporary school, a library, a residence for US Naval aviators in flight training at St. Mary’s College, and most recently as a theater.
The Lafayette Improvement Association (LIA), Lafayette’s oldest community service organization, built the Town Hall. The LIA is the organization that has served as the steward for this historic building for the last 100 years. The LIA will be raising $100,000 for an endowment fund which will provide for the building's care and maintenance for many years to come.
