BENEFITING: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
EVENT DATE: Mar 20, 2011
Why St. Jude Children's Research Hospital? Aside from it being a great cause, this is more personal. In 2005 my mother was found to have a brain tumor. It was my first direct experience with cancer. Most of the tumor was removed surgically. When my mom was well enough from the surgery, she underwent radiation treatment for the rest of the tumor. She is well now, enjoying her home, retirement and most of all, her grandson Jacob.
I asked her which cancer research charity she would like me to raise money for, and she chose St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Out of respect to her, and because a cure must be found to this disease, I’m raising money for them.
“St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.”
