The access to quality healthcare service in Laos esp. for children is quite poor thus a number of children dies from communicable and preventabledisesases such as malaria, diarrhea and pneumonia. Until the 1970s, Laos faced several wars and ongoing political instability. As a result, today more than a third of the population lives below the international poverty line, and the country has one of the lowest annual incomes in the world. The healthcare situation is dire: with an average of 0.18 health workers per 1,000 population, the country faces a shortage of staff (https://www.fwab.org/laos)
In this regard Friends Without a Border (FWB), a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to provide high-quality and compassionate medical care to the children of Southeast Asia opened Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC) in Luang Prabang on February 11, 2015. LFHC is the first full-service pediatric hospital in northern Laos where about 15000 children are treated annually for free.
To continue to improve the hospital FWB has to acquire more supplies and equipment, build Lao staff capacity and open Surgery Department and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit this year. The Luang Prabang Marathon is one major event oraganised by FWB for LFHC which has been running for 3 years now to raise funds to provide high quality healthcare for the children of Lao.

I'm joining the marathon and would want to raise fund to help improve LFHS for the children to give them a chance to improve their health, extend and enjoy their lives. May I ask your support in this cause by donating any amount of money through this fund raising page.
Thank you, thank you for your generosity :)
