BENEFITING: CHILD UNITED
It's a time for birthdays for Larcy and Christine and a time for celebration. We've expanded Larcy's wish to include Christine through the month of November.
They've been working hard on multiple projects for Child United. As many of you know, the work they are doing overseas is extremely important to the both of them so if you are planning to give any birthday gifts to them... please consider donating to Child United instead. They are looking to raise money for the building of learning centers in disaster areas of the Philippines. In fact, Christine is leaving again on Nov. 12 to do more relief work in the Philippines. They are hoping to raise $15,000 to build the first one and we need your help!
The girls are one month apart in celebrating birthdays with Larcy on Oct. 25 and Christine on Nov. 25. Help these two women celebrate their 30s with a gift to Child United.
Larcy writes, "This year I am blessed to celebrate another Birthday. Some of you may not know, I was hospitalized during our relief trip as I was diagnosed with Dengue fever that almost took my life. Searching for meaning in things and situations that appear to be bad are those blessings in disguise. Discovering a deeper sense of meaning in suffering is growth, and that's what we all hope and wish for ourselves and each other, growth.
I want to share with you this special birthday wish for me to continue the work we set out to do with Child United and help those who are still trying to forge meaning out of the suffering that Typhoon Haiyan left behind. Help me raise this money that we'll use to build the first learning center so we can help not just new communities in their rebuilding efforts, but more importantly, provide a place for children so they may continue to grow themselves through their aftermath."
Christine writes, "I can't thank my friends and family enough for the support they've given me and Child United through the years. If you only saw what we saw, you would probably open up your wallets to the kids we are helping. The tragedy in the Philippines has long been forgotten but thousands of people continue to suffer in its aftermath. This is why I keep going. This is why I keep helping. The kids... so many of them need your help yet they've been forgotten. This wish is dedicated to them and to every one of you. Your gift would mean so much."
"Do not count the candles, only notice the light they give. Do not count the years, only look at the life you live."
