Mass General and New England Revolution have teamed up to help AliveAndKickn raise money and awareness for colon cancer and genetic cancer by playing twenty-four hours of soccer!  Most people don't realize that colon cancer is the second leading cancer killer overall, and the #1 cancer killer among non-smokers.  Seriously.  And almost as many women die of colon cancer as men, and it's getting younger.  People under 50 getting colon cancer has risen 4% a year for decades.  So how does soccer fit with this?  Dave Dubin, founder of AliveAndKickn, has that rare genetic predisposition to colon cancer and soccer.  He looked at the numbers.  While both were statistically significant,  he thought that both soccer and colon cancer needed more awareness and recognition.  Here's where you come in.

Register early for the event and lock in your timeslot, either as an individual, with a group, or with a full squad.  By doing so, you ensure your place on the field with players your age, and you also have the ability to get your fundraising page up and running quick.  Tell your friends, family, co-workers and more.  They'll think it's neato and different that someone is using soccer as a means of awareness and fundraising, and they'll be happy to toss you a few bucks for putting in the effort.  For doing so, you get a ticket to the May 11th Revs game against NY Red Bull, and some AliveAndKickn swag to show around town, and if you've seen the photos, the stuff is actually pretty cool.  The package is so good, that even if you don't play, you would want the deal and fundraise anyway.

The Revs are bringing out their mascot Slyde and the RevGirls, maybe even a player.  We've got a great location at Veteran's Memorial Stadium in Quincy.  There's lots to do in Quincy around the event itself, so make the most of it.  Colon Cancer isn't an "old man's disease."  Soccer for a cause.  Show the world you're AliveAndKickn!  Thank you for your support.
