Last Year of University
Organized by: Caleb Larson
My name is Caleb and I am a History major. I will be starting my 4th and final year of my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
So far, I have managed to stay debt-free by living at home for my first two years while in community college and transfering to UCLA, all while working. I would like to graduate debt-free, and I need about $3000.00 in order to do so.
Spring Quarter 2015 is D-Day. Virtually all financial aid and all money I have saved will used up. I will have virtually nothing then.
This money will directly fund my tuition for Spring Quarter 2015.
I want to graduate debt-free firstly for myself. I do not want to join the millions of other students who graduate crippled by debt. Also, I think it would set a good example for other like minded students who want to graduate debt-free, in particular my younger sister. She too is in college (starting her second hear at a local community college!) and she wants to graduate debt-free as well. So I will lead by example.
As of right now, I have done everything in my power to graduate debt-free and pay my own way. Initially I calculated that I would need to take out loans sometime during my third year. A good housing situation helped my stretch my money longer than I thought I could. Coming upon my last year of college and owing not one cent is much farther than I thought I could go when I first started college. But I want to take this farther! I want to graduate debt-free! But I can't do it without people like you. Now my dream is in your hands.
