BENEFITING: Mohonk Preserve, Inc.
EVENT: 2015 Rock the Ridge 50
EVENT DATE: May 02, 2015
Long story short: We are walking 50 miles for a great cause! That's a lot of miles.
Now for the long story:
Rock The Ridge is a 50-mile endurance challenge set in the natural beauty of the Mohonk Preserve, a vast, non-profit nature preserve situated in the mid-Hudson Valley of New York State. The goal is to traverse a 50-mile course within 24 hours or less by walking, running, or any combination thereof.
The course winds along beautiful carriage trails, through the forests and across the magnificent ridgelines of the Preserve, lands which The Nature Conservancy has described as “one of Earth's last great places.”
Our participation in Rock the Ridge, helps to raise funds for the Mohonk Preserve in support of its mission to safeguard the land of the Shawangunk Ridge and encourage people to experience nature. The charitable contributions will directly benefit the Preserve's award-winning Environmental Education Programs. The programs have gotten over 100,000 children into nature and offers something for everyone.
This cause is important to us because we regularly find ourselves hiking in the Mohonk Preserve and other natural sites. Living in New York City, it is priceless to have places like the Mohonk Preserve to escape to and enjoy nature. Thank you so much for helping us reach our goal. Your contribution means the world to us, as well as future Mohonk Preserve visitors.
