This is the first year my kids (9,11) and I will be participating in the No Stomach For Cancer Walk, without my husband and their amazing father, Ray. We began attending this event in 2012, just after he was first diagnosed with Stage 3C Stomach Cancer. What my husband endured throughout his illness is unimaginable- chemotherapy, radiation, multiple stents in his colon, the inability to eat or drink for over a year, daily IVs, feeding tube, drain tubes, loss of 75% of his stomach... The list goes on... And the physical suffering was only part of it... Ray fought his illness with every ounce of strength, courage and determination that he had... He never gave up hope...
This year we walk in his memory. We honor his enduring spirit which lives on in us everyday. We walk to raise awareness of this deadly disease and to raise money in the hope that the research and support offered by No Stomach For Cancer will continue to help other warriors and their families.
Please consider a donation in memory of Ray. And please join us for this free event from 2-4 on November 5th at Grafton HS, where he will be honored. Thank you.
