BENEFITING: GREYHOUND RESCUE OF NEW ENGLAND INC
I'll be running the Boston Marathon in 2016 on behalf of Greyhound Rescue of New England (GRNE). GRNE is a small non-profit organization dedicated to finding homes for retired racing Greyhounds when their careers have ended. Non-profit #04-3461361. GRNE was founded in 1999 and has successfully re-homed over 1000 retired racing greyhounds, who after the careers end, have no place to go. GRNE works alongside racetracks to remove dogs and once they are in the care of GRNE, they are responsible for having them spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, de-wormed and bathed. They also take care of them during their stays including daily meals, walks, kennel cleaning and all the administrative tasks to keep the kennel running. They house 10-14 dogs at a time learning their individual behaviors to allow for the best possible home fit for each dog. GRNE asks for only a small adoption fee and relies on fundraising to keep the kennel running. Most of you know that Ernie is one of the great lights of my life. Without GRNE, we would have never had the opportunity to share our lives with such a goofy, loving, gentle 45 mph couch potato! So please help me help keep GRNE saving the lives of retired racing greyhounds!
