AbilityPath.org is an online hub and special needs community for parents and professionals to learn, connect and live a more balanced life - through all phases of a child's growth and development. The website combines social networking features with expert content from AbilityPath.org’s team of educators, parents, therapists and medical professionals.
I had the opportunity to join forces with AbilityPath.org to bring awareness about bullying and students with special needs, through their report “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes.” Together, we have raised the level of awareness and continue to bring kids with special needs to the center of anti-bullying conversations. AbilityPath.org also released a report on the obesity risks for kids with special needs and continues to champion the health and wellness needs of children and young adults with special needs.
AbilityPath.org resources are available in English and Spanish and features advice, tool kits and other practical day to day living tips ranging from infant needs to transitioning into adulthood. AbilityPath’s community blogs, forums, events and groups provide an outlet of support and encouragement throughout their parenting journey.
AbilityPath.org is a national initiative of Community Gatepath, a California based nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities of greater independence for children, youth and adults with special needs and disabilities through education and support services that empower individuals and families. All donations benefit Community Gatepath, a 501c3 nonprofit organization and will help keep this vital resource available for special needs families.
