BENEFITING: DOGGIE DOES GOOD INC
Earlier this year, we found Doggie Does Good, a non-profit near San Luis Obispo that trains service dogs to assist people with epilepsy. These dogs can be trained to alert others when their owners have a seizure, break their fall when they convulse, and comfort them after a seizure. We visited Doggie Does Good earlier this year to see how Lauren responded to their dogs. She instantly connected with a wonderful golden retriever that we subsequently named Barkley.
Barkley’s training is proceeding on schedule and we are now asking for help to raise funds to bring Barkley home. We have already raised $5,000 but we still need an additional $10,000 to bring Barkley home. Once home, Barkley will be able to sleep with Lauren and help us monitor her night seizures. Every donation is a tremendous help and spreading the word is just as important. Please help us in passing along Lauren’s story and sharing her fundraising link with your network. You can keep track of our progress on our Facebook page.
