BENEFITING: Family Abuse Services Of Alamance County Inc
It's almost April 7th so I know what you're thinking: "What in the world will I get Lauren for her birthday!?" Fear not! For my 24th, I'm setting my sights on raising $240 for Family Abuse Services. I work with clients who are at high risk of being killed or seriously injured by their partners. Every day, I listen to absolutely heartbreaking and terrifying stories and I work with people who are usually having one of the worst days of their lives. And then they come to our office and I get to listen, empower, and support them. I get to be part of their lives for a long while or a brief moment and I get to show them LOVE. One of my clients recently said to me, “It’s people like you who make me believe there’s hope for me to be happy.” Day in and day out, on the good days, the awful days, and every day in between my co-workers and I show up, no matter what. We're here to support and empower victims of domestic violence no matter their income, age, sex, race, criminal history, immigration status, religion, or any other way we humans divide ourselves. We show up and we're here and we advocate and empower and love not because we get a big pay check, not because it's easy, but because it's who we are. I am SO PROUD of the work that we do and that I get to be part of an incredible team that takes a stand and embodies the very best of humanity. Please help me raise $240 by midnight on April 7th! I hope you'll consider making a gift of any size to support our work and love on me for my birthday!
