Please join the fight against DIPG, a devastating pediatric brain cancer. On May 29 I will be at the Defeat DIPG Superhero Sprint & 6K, at Westfield Montgomery in Bethesda, MD. This is going to be a fun, family-friendly event, which supports a great cause: the fight against childhood brain tumors. As many of you know, Jenny and Mark Mosier lost their 6-year-old son, Michael, to a DIPG brain tumor in May 2015. They formed a nonprofit organization -- Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation -- that raises money to fund DIPG research. It truly takes an entire community of fundraisers, researchers, and dedicated individuals to fight pediatric cancer. The proceeds from the race will be used to further their goal of finding treatments and a cure so that other children and families do not have to face the same devastating prognosis that Michael did. The event includes a "race" for everyone: there is a timed 6K course, an untimed 1K for kids, and a Tot Sprint for the youngest participants. There will be music, games, and entertainment for all. If you cannot be there in person, please consider supporting the team with a donation or signing up to be a "Virtual Runner."
