Last year on a mild January 1st, I ran into the Atlantic Ocean surrounded by people. Why? To raise money for Camp Sunshine in memory of my friend Katie Vashon.
Katie was my sorority sister, someone I only knew for a short period of time. But she was a kind and loving friend to everyone around her. Katie was also a Camp Sunshine volunteer, who talked with great passion about her love for the camp and their mission. For those that don't know, Camp Sunshine is a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses and their families.
This year I am hoping to double what I raised, and then some. It costs $2,000 for a family to attend Camp Sunshine's weeklong program, where all of their meals, accommodations, activities, and medical needs can be attended to.
Please help me reach my goal and provide summer camp experiences for kids who could really use a vacation. All of the donations I recieve online will be counted toward the Katie Vashon Family Scholarship Fund.
P.S. Please come support me in person on New Year's Day as I plunge into the icy Atlanic Ocean :)
