This is the 7th consecutive race I will be running in memory of my brother, Josh, and to stop teenage suicide. In the past seven years since his death, I have left my job at investment banking and co-founded The Josh Anderson Foundation, which I now serve as Executive Director. Our records show that JAF has supported mental health awareness programming in 36 schools so far, reaching 62,000 with the message that its okay to struggle, its okay to ask for help and there is hope. What these stats don't show is how people have come together - like our amazing 13 member board of directors as well as our countless volunteers - to rally for this cause. How young people have such resiliency and strength to share their vulnerable stories of struggling with their mental health in order to help their peers. How Josh's legacy has really continued on by way of sparking a conversation about mental health in school communities all over Northern VA, areas of Boston and even overseas. I am truly grateful that my job is to see all of these amazing things happen in order to make life better for others. Please help us continue to do this important work.
