BENEFITING: The Foundation for Faces of Children
EVENT: Paces for Faces 2015
EVENT DATE: Oct 04, 2015
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed in the past to the Foundation for Faces of Children on behalf of Gavin's Team. Your generosity has been used to assist children with craniofacial conditions, including cleft lip, cleft palate, and other head and facial differences. The Foundation's mission is to provide patients and families with the most accurate, up-to-date, and accessible information about facial conditions, and to advocate for the best care possible for children with facial conditions.
Gavin, now 3 and a half years old, was born with a Tessier Facial Cleft, which was corrected with a major surgery at 8 months old by Dr. Meara at Childrens' Hospital Boston. He continues to be monitored every year by Dr. Meara, Dr. Wolff in Neurology and other specialists at the Childrens' Cleft Clinic, but is doing great and today he is as healthy as can be. Although we do know that he will still have to face another surgery closer to first grade, and possibly more down the line. Luckily this boy was born as tough as nails, he is a fighter with a big heart that won't let anything stop him! His big personality makes up for any facial differences he may have, and in our eyes he couldn't be more perfect!
This is our 4th year participating in the Paces For Faces Walk. We do it as a thank you for Gavin's incredible team at Childrens' that were able to provide us with the best knowledge and resources available, and we hope that other cleft children continue to have access to the same.
Please join us for Gavin's Team again this year, either by walking with us or perhaps by contributing to this wonderful cause that is very near and dear to our hearts! Thank you!
