The Copley's Story
Laurie Copley was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myleoma, after discovering a mass on her sternum and sacrum and lesions on both femurs and her skull. She has begun radiation and chemotherapy treatments, uses a walker and takes medication to assist with the pain. Unfortunately, the Copley's health coverage terminated on December 31, as their insurance company pulled out of South Carolina. Their new insurance will be effective March 1, but in the meantime, the majority of Laurie's hospitalizations and treatments will occur during the time they are without coverage. Nowell continues working as a pastor, but being Laurie's full-time caregiver and the unexpected expenses that cancer brings, will make their financial obligations difficult to meet.
Many have asked how they could help, especially those who are not in close proximity. Consider making a donation to relieve some of the financial burden for this wonderful family who contribute so much of their own time and talents. Let's face it....no one joins ministry for the money.
Even the smallest donation can make the biggest impact!
The Hungerford family began their own non-profit, #Road2Recovery, in the summer of 2014, after Kyle was diagnosed with a recurrence and was scheduled for a stem scell transplant. This organzation is to assist those with financial difficulties during treatment so that they can pay their household and/or medical bills when they are unable to work.
It is our intent as a family to help those in our local community by giving back the same support that we have received as a family through financial gifts, encouragement and prayers. If you are financially blessed and feel led, please consider making a donation! We understand that this may not be a good time or that you have your own causes to support, so we would also appreciate your prayers for those families that we are assisting.
Much love and appreciation!
