Law Student, Mom and Wife
Organized by: MatthewandTyffany Barnes
At 6am, I wake up. At 7am, I take my six-year-old daughter to school. From 8am to 4:30pm and 6:15pm - 9:30pm, I work full time. Monday through Thursday, I’m in class. At 11pm, I get home to kiss my daughter good night and hug my husband. This is an intense schedule, but I chose to make this sacrifice for my family because I see the bigger picture. I have a year and a half left at UNT Dallas College of Law, I am a part of the inaugural class and I so close to accomplishing my goal and dream of finishing law school. I have sacrificed time with my child, missed plays, games, and other events because I had class. And for two years I have worn myself down to the ground working 40 hrs a week and then going to Law School at night, but I have to in order to support my family. We simply cant afford for me to not work and go to school but I dont know if my mind or body can continue to handle the grueling schedule that I have. My life is richer and fuller than I ever imagined. I’m earning my law degree, and I’m on the path to making a real difference in my community by maximizing my abilities to serve for good. Hopefully one day I can help others fulfill their dreams. I approach the study of law from a mature and unique perspective. I’m driven by values, dedication, and sense of personal responsibility. I am excited by my future and waiting for the chance to serve my community. Please help me fulfill this dream and complete law school.
