The Story

EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2014

DEADLINE TO GIVE: Dec 01, 2014

FUNDRAISER SET UP DEADLINE: Dec 01, 2014

Nearly 1.2 million New Jersey residents face the debilitating effects of hunger.

Lawyers Feeding New Jersey will harness the power of everyone in the legal community to do something about this emergency and give back to our communities. All donations are 100% tax-deductible and will benefit Community FoodBank of New Jersey, which provides food and funds to food banks throughout the state.

For every $1 that is donated, Community FoodBank of New Jersey is able to provide enough food for five meals to those in need.

No time to donate online? Firm or personal checks can be made out to: Community FoodBank of New Jersey and sent to: New Jersey Law Center, Attn: Lawyers Feeding New Jersey, 1 Constitution Square, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.

Here's how it works:

1.) Make an individual donation by clicking "DONATE" and selecting "Individual Donors" under the team category - OR -

2.) Form a team to take part in a friendly competition to fight hunger by clicking the "START OR JOIN A TEAM" or "JOIN A TEAM" button. Click "DONATE" to make a contribution.

3.) If you have formed a team, encourage colleagues, family, friends and neighbors to donate toward the cause through your site before it closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 1. They can donate to your team by clicking the "DONATE" button and selecting your team from the menu.

The individuals and teams to collect the most contributions will be recognized at the NJSBA Board of Trustees Holiday Reception on Dec. 12. The top three individual donors will be recognized, as well as the top team in the following categories:

  • 1, individual
  • 2–9 individuals
  • 10–24 individuals
  • 25 or more individuals
