I'm running because I believe in the power of saying “Yes, you can!” even when it's hard, and especially when you are trying to convince yourself you can do that thing. I'm running because I'm deeply inspired by my students who refuse to give up in the face of challenges, “small” or life altering. I'm running because I'm turning 30 this December, and I thought this mind-body challenge would be an incredible gift to myself. I'm running with gratitude for the support I've been given by family and friends in my every endeavor, and running hundreds of miles over the course of a few months provides me the time to count my blessings and think of the people that matter most. I'm running because I have found a team I can back, and is worthy of support, Sanctuary For Families. I'm running with respect and love for those students, friends, and family members who are survivors of domestic abuse, and have committed themselves to breaking that cycle.
