BENEFITING: ANIMAL ADVOCATES ALLIANCE
EVENT DATE: Oct 09, 2011
A group of novice and experienced runners (Nicole Matthews, Jordan Bechtold, Cory Clark, and Robin Kaplan) are training together for the Long Beach Half or Full Marathon in order to raise money for Animal Advocates Alliance (AAA)!
Please help us raise money for AAA by sponsoring us as we train to run 13.1 or 26.2 miles! It is estimated that 4 to 5 million animals are euthanized in US shelters each year. We hope to play a small role in reducing this terrible statistic by supporting AAA's important efforts.
About Animal Advocates Alliance
AAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals through legal advocacy, humane education initiatives, and animal rescue. AAA rescues animals from high-kill Los Angeles city and county shelters, provides them with necessary veterinary care, and places the animals in safe and loving homes. Many of these animals have suffered from neglect, mental and/or physical abuse, and physical injuriesrequiring surgery and rehabilitation.
AAA also works in tandem with other non-profit groups to implement spay/neuter, humane education and other programs designed to reduce the number of animals being euthanized at LA county shelters. Additionally, AAA engages in legal advocacy to support the aggressive prosecution of perpetrators of animal abuse under applicable anti-cruelty statutes. About the pictures: Each of the animals featured on the left have been helped by AAA in some way, whether it be networking, rescuing or rehabilitation. The first picture is my pup, Annie, relaxing with her dad in her new home. We were so lucky to find out about Annie through AAA!
