BENEFITING: LINDA BLAIR-WORLDHEART FOUNDATION
I've always loved animals. I don't think I know anyone that hasn't wanted to be a Vet as SOME point in their life. I was exactly the same. Granted, my dreams have changed, but my love for animals has never wavered. I've had dogs all my life, but I've never owned a Pit Bull. My parents aren't necessarily "Anti-Pit Bull" but the communities we lived in had breed restrictions.
As a young adult myself, I know i'll be purchasing my first home within the next few years & part of my criteria will be that I can own at least 2 pit bulls. I've been lucky enough to have friends that have owned them & I've never had anything but positive experiences.
To discriminate against an entire breed of unconditionally loving animals because a small portion have acted negatively is just as absurd as discriminating against a person of a different race- simply because of a negative experience. Every single dog is different, just as every single person is different.
Shows like "Pit Boss" & Organizations like the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation are SO important to help educate people about these incredibly loving dogs. But they can't do it alone. LBWF shelters 40+ dogs at their Acton, CA ranch. Thats a lot of mouths to feed, a lot of toys to chew, a lot of towels to clean, a lot of medical care & an incredible amount of heart. If love alone could provide the care needed- I wouldn't worry a bit. But unfortunately it's not entirely enough.
My hope is to help raise some money for this amazing organization. Help these beautifully sweet souls continue to get the love & care they need.

No, I don't work there. I'm just a 22 year old girl with a ridiculous soft spot for animals. I wish I could volunteer or adopt from them myself, but unfortunately I live in Florida for the time being. One day I hope to make a trip out there to see the amazing things they're doing firsthand :)
