Lucky Dog Animal Rescue (LDAR) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless and abandoned dogs and cats from high-kill shelters. With no boarding facility or shelter of our own, LDAR relies on a network of committed volunteers, fosters, veterinarians, trainers and boarding facilities to rescue and adopt-out hundreds of animals each year.
Since our founding in May 2009, LDAR has rescued over 7,800 animals. Yet our work is not done! It is because of supporters like you we are able to help these amazing animals find their forever homes and for that we are truly grateful! Without handlers, drivers, fosters, etc., we could not save the dogs that we do. Their generosity embodies the spirit of the Saving Pets Challenge, a fundraiser benefiting animal welfare organizations dedicated to decreasing shelter pet euthanasia! So join LDAR and help us win the Saving Pets Challenge!
LDAR Giving Levels:
$20 provides one day of boarding while we arrange a foster placement.
$35 pays to transport one dog from a rural shelter to the DC area.
$50 covers the costs of routine vaccinations for one dog.
$100 can pay for the spay/neuter surgery for one dog.
$250 can help provide life-saving treatment to a heartworm positive dog.
$300 or more can pay for surgery for one of our critically injured pups.
