I will be participating in (and hopefully finishing) my third Boston Marathon. When I committed to run last winter, one of my best friends asked why I was going to do another marathon. I responded that I could afford to commit three hours and thirty minutes on an April Monday afternoon to a good cause – alright, so it may be closer to four hours but one needs to set a goal. Besides, I am competing with two colleagues from work and 3:30 or better is the time I need to win.
I will be one of many John Hancock employees running to raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, which each year serve 14,000 youth, aged 6-18, with programs in the areas of Education, Arts, Life Skills, Leadership, Technology, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation.
I am asking that you support us in this fundraising effort by making a donation to this important program that is making a difference in people’s lives.
