BENEFITING: Leader Dogs for the Blind
Pet Awareness Day began in 2013 at our Michigan offices of Dassault Systemes as part of a Take Your Dog To Work Day® initiative. Our event raises awareness for service dogs and encourages pet adoption from local shelters, rescue groups, and humane societies. Last year, we raised over $3200 for Leader Dogs for the Blind through an internal auction. This year, we want to expand our impact by inviting you to participate in our fundraiser for Leader Dogs for the Blind who often receive their potential leader dogs from rescue groups and local shelters. They empower people who are blind, visually impaired or Deaf-Blind with skills for a lifetime of independent travel, opening doors that may seem to have closed with the loss of sight. Thanks to the generosity of dedicated supporters, all programs are provided free to clients, including meals and housing during training, travel and equipment. Leader Dog programs are crafted to address individual situations and adapt to our clients’ changing needs at any point in their lives. From youth camp to orientation and mobility cane training through guide dog training and GPS technology integration, Leader Dog’s programs give clients the confidence and skills they need to live independent lives. Please join us in exceeding last year's fundraiser by donating towards our goal of $4000 for Leader Dogs for the Blind.
