Lets Continue To Move Past Our Goal!
November 30, 2016

I am thrilled to see we have raised over $1500 for The Holyoke Boys and Girls Club! Lets continue to move past our goal and reach out to more See More

THE STORY:

Great Futures Start Here!

The Holyoke Boys and Girls Club contributes to the great reputation the city has to support its young people. Since 1982, the club has served as a welcoming area for members with healthy snacks, fun activities and support in any area of need.  In many ways the youth are introduced to a path for a sucessful future. The efforts that are shown by caring professionals’ who help kids learn in way for them to gain effective study skills and responsible citizenship for the outside world. Many of the kids are able recongize the club as a safe place to shine. Overall the organization is there to inspire its four thousand members to purse higher education.

Take this into consideration: Only 23% of the citys popoulation has a bachelor’s degree or higher and 30% of the population live in poverty (census.gov). It is crucial for the Club to continue their college readiness programs. The youth in Holyoke tend to need assitance with academic support. The Holyoke Boys and Girls Club offers endless resource to fufill kids academic dreams. The resources include guidance in the college application process and choosing the right school that best fits them. My projects will bring more attention to financial help that memebers stuggle to find. The club has a very important focus to make  open oppertunities to expirence a college education. The community funds many programs in order for the organization to prepare its members to the best of their ability.

  • College Tours (Taco Bell Grant)
  • College Expenses (The Nick Cosmo Scholarship Fund)
  • Introduction to former members who have graduated college
  • Community Discussion Group (Keystone Program)

The Club promotes academic success. The project will increase funds to place kids directly into college. Therefore, many donations are required for a big difference to be made. The support from the club is there and will always be, but it is crucial to raise money to continue great futures.

I am able to attend Wheaton College from all the help the community has offered me. The Holyoke Boys and Girls club will be handed all the donations collected from this class project. It is important I take this inciative in my city to give back in a generous way. The Club will appreciate any donation. You have a great opportunity to fill Holyoke with college educated citizens.

“For more than a century, Boys & Girls Clubs have played a significant role in helping kids and teens achieve academic success through year-round programs designed to help them graduate high school, pursue a college degree, and join the work force,” said Dr. Damon Williams, chief educational and youth development officer at BGCA.

Starting November 3rd, help make the difference in the Holyoke Boys and Girls Club’s community. Your support not only will bring a positive impact in kids’ lives but also help rasie awareness for college education althrough out the city. The change we create comes from our efforts of fulfilling the project along with your donation. We will help many families live under less financial stress and lead members to school success.

It is great to see that more than enough donations have been rasied due to so many generous donors. This fundrasier can still continue to raise even more donations with support from other people! Please keep making an impact and send to other people who can give their contributions. Thank you again for your generosity. You are making a great impact in the futures of our youth!
