BENEFITING: ARMY RANGER LEAD THE WAY FUND
ORGANIZER: ARMY RANGER LEAD THE WAY FUND
For those of you who do not know yet, I have decided to participate in the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon as a member of team Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund. The Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund is a 501c3 non-profit organization established to raise funds in support of disabled U.S. Army Rangers and the families of Rangers who have died, have been injured or are currently serving in harm’s way around the world. Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund will provide spouses and children of deceased, disabled or active duty Rangers with assistance for health/wellness programs and other financial services determined to be vital to the family’s well-being, beyond what the government and Veterans Affairs can offer.
Running the NYC Marathon was never a real life goal of mine until recently (after high school field hockey I never thought I'd run more than four miles again in my life). Yet living in New York City for the past two years and experiencing the excitement, support, and sense of community that the NYC Marathon promotes inspired me to become involved. With multiple members of my family in the military (some being deployed currently--love you Rae!), running with this team and raising money for this fund is just one way that I can honor them, and show my appreciation and support for the individuals who serve to protect us and our country.
For more information on the fund's mission, and additional volunteer opporuntities, please see the following website: https://www.leadthewayfund.org/
Thank you for your support and generosity--I love you all!
