I am so excited to announce that I will be running the TCS New York City Marathon this November in support of the Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund. I've chosen to support this charity because I wanted to support a military-related organization, as the military has meant so much to my family. My husband, CPT Matthew Guyer, is currently deployed to the Middle East and Central Asia with the 116th Military Engagement Team.
Matt and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for more than 11 years. We have three children under five - Easton, Emmy, and Penn - and while Matt has deployed previously, this is our first deployment as parents.
Running a marathon has been a long-time goal of mine. I've completed several half marathons and I believe training for my first marathon while Matt is deployed overseas will give me the drive and motivation to not only cross the finish line on November 6, but also to raise money for the amazing non-profit, Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund. This organization was established to raise funds in support of disabled U.S. Army Rangers and their families or Rangers who have died, been injured, or who are currently serving in harm's way around the word. They provide spouses and children of deceased, disabled or active duty Rangers with assistance for health and wellness programs and other services determined to be vital to the family's well-being.
Having a husband deployed, I know this is just one small part I can take in supporting Soldiers like Matt, and I'm honored to run for such an incredible charity. Helping support this organization will make this experience even more incredible.
Please help me in reaching my goal of raising $4,000. Any amount helps, even $5.
Thank you again for all your support!
