THE STORY:
People have asked me why I run marathons and it's a really good question. There are moments when I ask myself the same thing. The hours of training, the sore muscles, the chafing, the loss of toenails (TMI, but it's true!), the discipline...it takes a toll on your body and your mind. But I have never experienced a more gratifying moment in my life than when I crossed the finish line in Central Park, completing my first marathon in 2014. In that moment, I wasn't thinking of the aches and pains. I was simply so grateful that God had given me the opportunity to push myself to limits I didn't think possible, and that my body somehow cooperated. In 2016 I am once again running the NYC Marathon, and this time I am running on behalf of the Ranger Lead The Way Foundation. The work they do for disabled Army Rangers and their families is inspiring, and joining their cause is something that brings me a tremendous amount of pride and humility. On Sunday November 6th, every stride I take will be for those who, because of their bravery and love of country, can't cross the finish line with me. It is a great honor to represent these individuals who epitomize courage, strength, and conviction. I ask that you help me in my efforts to raise funds for this unbelievable and worthy cause. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, and God bless.
