BENEFITING: City Year
EVENT DATE: May 20, 2012
As a senior at Solomon Schechter School of Westchester, I am in the midst of completing my WISE project, a personal project centered around a placement. When I began thinking about my project some months ago, I knew I wanted running to be a part of it, as I had always wanted to take up running during high school but never found the time in my busy schedule. However, I knew that wasn't enough, and so I decided to combine my passion for service work with running, and took an internship at City Year New York, a non-profit organization, which works to combat the drop-out crisis plaguing students in America. City Year facilitates a year-long program of intensive service for young adults (17-24 year olds) to take part in.
