Leap, Inc. d/b/a Brooklyn Workforce Innovations (BWI) is a workforce development non-profit created in 2000 to help men and women from low-income communities in New York City launch family-supporting careers by equipping them with essential skills, credentials and support. Our mission is to empower low- and moderate-income people by creating living-wage employment opportunities and access to career paths. We develop programs that counter prevailing market inequalities based on race or gender and contribute to a broader movement for economic justice.

BWI programs prepare beneficiaries for careers in television and film production (“Made in NY”- Production Assistant), commercial driving (Red Hook on the Road), cable installation (Brooklyn Networks), skilled woodworking (Brooklyn Woods); and connects public housing residents to jobs with the New City Housing Authority (NYCHA Resident Training Academy); and helps those at the earliest stages of job readiness (New York Drives) with skills and a critical credential: a Driver’s License.
