Learning The Language

In today's transitional climate all of our faith traditions need fully committed, talented, and properly educated leaders. We must cultivate religious leaders that are willing to engage their communities. They need to be more than an evangelist, apologist, or Sunday face. They should desire to 'learn the language' of their communities in order to understand their collective needs and provide appropriate pastoral care.
I believe that one of the best places to encourage and challenge our future religious leaders is during their time at seminary.I feel called to teach at a religious university or seminary and I am working towards that goal. I am a student at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology (DSPT) in Berkeley California. I study both philosophy and theology in a concurrent masters program at the DSPT.
When I finish my masters I would like continue my studies in a PhD program where I plan to continue studying both philosophy and theology. It is when I finish this that I hope to secure a teaching position at a leading religious university.
Any donations received will go directly to my tuition which currently costs approximately $7800.00 per semester.
