THE STORY:

If seeking a tax-deductible donation receipt, prior to donating, please call The Life Chest office direct at (248) 220-4978.

Mission- To raise $100,000 to donate Life Chests to combat-injured veterans across America.

What’s a Life Chest?- A Life Chest provides a special place to keep your most treasured memories. It replaces your old shoebox of family collectibles with an heirloom quality chest for all your keepsakes, and accompanies you through every phase of life; from major milestones to the most intimate memories. For veterans, a Life Chest provides a place to store their most meaningful memories, honors, and memorabilia.

Why does this matter?- Our veterans give their all and more to make sure our everyday freedoms continue to be possible. Donating to “Save a Life, Leave a Legacy” is an easy and powerful way to give back, and thank them for their extraodinary sacrifice!

Beyond being a beautiful piece of furniture, a Life Chest symbolizes the accomplishments of military service. A Life Chest would store mementos, photos, keepsakes and other items, either collected while in the military or at other times.

The celebration of life’s milestones and capturing the essence of your proudest moments is what makes a Life Chest so special. It preserves all of these things in a gorgeous and tangible place that can be revisited for a lifetime and beyond!

An organization dedicated to assisting veterans in another powerful way is the All Veteran Group, which created an amazing program called Therapy in the Air. This program takes combat-injured and PTSD-affected troops skydiving with Sgt. First Class Mike Elliott, and “… helps warriors thrive through post-traumatic growth (PTG)…  [It] inspires individuals during rehabilitation, reintegration and during the healing process.”

With this uplifting and pivotal new experience, veterans realize that they are still capable of so many amazing things, and are inspired to live fully and continue their story in a positive way.

Our goal is to further complement the Therapy in the Air program by donating a Life Chest to every combat-injured troop that completes the program.

“With the development of The Life Chest I now realize that these moments and stories can be shared by family and friends because the silent voice of each item is a piece of me…the essence of who I am. Thank you for giving the vehicle to share the path I have walked and the path I will explore.”

- Sgt. First Class Mike Elliott (ret.), 42

Freedom Life Chest for Veterans- Designed in collaboration with members of the U.S. Special Forces, the Freedom Life Chest that we are donating through this fundraiser truly honors those who serve our country. Large enough to display a military uniform jacket, the Freedom Life Chest also has a false bottom to preserve more intimate items. A pewter medallion of the respective branch of service is proudly placed on the chest’s lid. With six exterior 4” x 6” photo frames and interior 5” x 7” photo frame, the Freedom Life Chest tells a veteran’s story inside and out!

How can I help?-  Donate now! Click the orange button at the right that says “Donate to this fundraiser” and follow the prompts. If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to the “Life Chest Charity Account” and mail to The Life Chest office at 3331 W. Big Beaver Road, Suite 118, Troy, MI 48084.
