Legal Defense Fund for Hall County Schools
Organized by: Aaron Bennett
An atheist group based in Washington, D.C. made national headlines recently by threatening legal action against a Hall County School. The American Humanist Association, an organization whose tagline line is “Good without a God,” issued a letter questioning the legality of certain practices of the football team at Chestatee High School.
It is certainly the AHA’s right to raise these questions. However, the group boasts on their website that many of their victories have come from the issuance of a single threatening letter. With this issue stirring so much passion in so many, wouldn’t it be wonderful if the matter wasn’t resolved with a single threat? Wouldn’t it be satisfying to see these questions raised in a forum worthy of the debate?
