We've recently gotten married, and we hope that our friends and relatives will help us celebrate by contributing to some worthwhile causes that are near and dear to our hearts. Unlike a young couple just starting out, we don't need any more "things" for our house, since we combined two full sets of household goods when we began living together. Yet both of us believe in helping to make the world a better place through volunteerism and charitable giving, and we thought that our wedding might be a good opportunity to introduce our friends and relatives to some of our favorite causes. Please check them out and support the one that best speaks to you!
Potomac Conservancy, for which Mark serves as a board member. Help support "The Nation's River!"
Capital Area Food Bank, for which Leigh's daughter Holly currently works. Let's help feed people.
American Hiking Society, Leigh's former employer, which helps to protect and promote hiking trails and the natural areas surrounding them.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Your contribution really makes a difference, and this cancer has touched too many people who we loved and now miss.
Blue Ridge Wildlife Center, which helps to heal wounded critters of all kinds - because the world would be a very sad place without a wide variety of furry and feathered friends.
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue (which saves cats, too). Our dog Bandit was rescued from a high-kill shelter in rural Virginia by the dedicated volunteers who run Lucky Dog.
