BENEFITING: Saha Global
My name is Leigh Heinbokel and I'm a junior at Lehigh University studying Environmental Engineering. I recently accepted a fellowship with Saha Global, which gives me the opportunity to work in northern Ghana to build a lifesaving water purification business in a small community.
About Saha Global:
Over half of the population in northern Ghana lacks clean drinking water. Currently, the village I will be working in drinks water that comes from dugouts, which are large holes in the ground, often contaminated with animal and human excrement due to lack of plumbing. This bacteria infested water can cause illnesses and even death. Saha has helped bring water and electricity to 40,900 people in Ghana so far, and 100% of the 98 community-run enterprises built over the past 6 years are still working today! That's an amazing statistic!
Where will your money go?
Saha Global is a 501(c)3 non-profit, which means that all contributions are TAX DEDUCTIBLE! 100% of the generous donations will go towards buying supplies, monitoring, and maintain the water purification business that will be run by elected women of the village. I will be traveling to Ghana in order to build this purification system and teach the women how to run and maintain it. This one business will be able to bring pure water to 700-1000 people, which is pretty amazing!
If you would rather contribute via check (this is preferred since 100% of your donation goes to the village), checks can be made out to Saha Global and sent to:
