EVENT DATE Sep 07, 2014
My sister Leigh Kelliher has Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia, a sister cancer to Multiple Myeloma, which my Dad had, prior to his passing in 2008. It is a blood lymphoma cancer.
I am doing a century (100 mile) bike ride on Sunday 9/7/14 to raise money for research being done at the Bing Center, a division of the Dana Farber Institute in Boston. This research will benefit Waldenstrom's and hopefully unlock causes (it has a genetic link) to its sister diseases Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis...all of which have affected my family and dear friends.
Diseases and research needs like this have no national fundraisers and are starved for funding. I am using this Crowdrise secure fundraising site to make it easy to donate.
I cannot tell you how much I love my sister Leigh and cannot tell you how much it pains me to see my family and friends suffer with these related diseases. Why else would a slightly overweight guy ride 100 miles just 6 months shy of his 50th birthday!
Cannot tell you how much I appreciate your support...any amount helps! Thanks.
